Acceptable Usage Policy

The Real Review is a service owned and operated by Corkscore Pty Ltd. It enables its users to access professional wine and food ratings, reviews and articles through smartphones and through the internet, and to share certain information with their friends.

These Terms of Use apply to the use of all channels through which The Real Review can be accessed. The term “The Real Review”, “TheRealReview.com” or “the site” refers to the website, the mobile optimised website, the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad application, any other means of accessing The Real Review and other properties owned by Corkscore Pty Ltd.

The content on this site is for personal use only. The content, including professional tasting notes, ratings, articles and community ratings and reviews published on The Real Review is the property of its writers and Corkscore Pty Ltd and may not be copied, shared distributed without expressed written consent of its writers and Corkscore Pty Ltd. Please contact us for any questions regarding this matter. There are certain basic terms and conditions of use which each member must observe and which are set out in these Terms and Conditions of Use. By accessing or using our service, you signify that you have read, that you understand and that you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or delete portions of these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time without further notice. If we do this, we will post the changes to these Terms and Conditions of Use on this page and will indicate at the top of this page the date these terms were last revised. Your continued use of the service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions of Use. It is your responsibility to regularly check the Site to determine if there have been changes to these Terms of Use and to review such changes.

Eligibility

The Real Review does not sell wine itself. However, many jurisdictions have very wide laws governing the advertising and sale of alcohol, whether directly or indirectly, including prohibitions on the advertising and sale of alcohol to minors. By becoming a member of The Real Review, you represent and warrant that you are at least the minimum age required within your jurisdiction to purchase alcoholic substances and beverages.

Use Restriction

You acknowledge that The Real Review is available for your personal, non-commercial use only in accessing food and wine ratings, reviews and articles as well as posting your own comments. You represent, warrant and agree that User Content submitted through your account or otherwise posted, transmitted, or shared by you on or through The Real Review will not violate or infringe the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other personal or proprietary rights; or contain libelous, defamatory or otherwise unlawful material. We hate to say this, but you must not use The Real Review for:

posting, transmitting, sharing or storing User Content which in our sole opinion is threatening, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, harassing, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, graphic or gratuitous violence, fraudulent, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting yourself, your age or your affiliation with any person or entity;
using The Real Review in any unlawful manner or in any other manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair it;
posting, transmitting, sharing, storing or otherwise making available content that, in the sole judgment of The Real Review, is objectionable or which restricts or inhibits any other person from using or enjoying The Real Review, or which may expose The Real Review or its users to any harm or liability of any type.

User Content

You are solely responsible for User Content you post on or through The Real Review, or transmit to or share with other users. You may not post, transmit, or share User Content on The Real Review that you did not create or that you do not have permission to post. You understand and agree that The Real Review may, but is not obligated to, review User Content and may delete or remove (without notice) any User Content which in its sole discretion and for any reason whatsoever, breaches these Terms and Conditions of Use. You are solely responsible at your sole cost and expense for creating backup copies and replacing any User Content you post or store on The Real Review.

When you post User Content to The Real Review, you authorize and direct us to make such copies as we deem necessary in order to facilitate the posting and storage of the User Content. By posting User Content to The Real Review, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to The Real Review an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, display, reformat, translate, sub-license and distribute such User Content in connection with the purposes and objectives of Corkscore properties and services, including The Real Review and Wine API services to 3rd parties. The Real Review does not assert any ownership over your User Content. You retain full ownership of all of your User Content and any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights associated with your User Content, subject only to the license granted to The Real Review pursuant to these Terms and Conditions of Use.

Winery Content

Wineries are solely responsible for Winery Content posted on or through Corkscore properties, including The Real Review. Wineries understand and agree that Corkscore may, but is not obligated to, review Winery Content and may delete or remove (without notice) any Winery Content which in its sole discretion and for any reason whatsoever, breaches these Terms and Conditions of Use. Wineries are solely responsible at their sole cost and expense for creating backup copies and replacing any Winery Content they post or store on Corkscore properties.

When wineries provide Winery Content to Corkscore, including The Real Review, they authorize and direct us to make such copies as we deem necessary in order to facilitate the posting and storage of the Winery Content. By submitting Winery Content to us, wineries automatically grant, and represent and warrant that they have the right to grant, to Corkscore an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, display, reformat, translate, sub-license and distribute such Winery Content in connection with the purposes and objectives of Corkscore properties and services, including The Real Review and Wine API services to 3rd parties. Corkscore does not assert any ownership over Winery Content. Wineries retain full ownership of all of Winery Content and any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights associated with the Winery Content, subject only to the license granted to Corkscore pursuant to these Terms and Conditions of Use.

Wine Sample Submissions

By submitting wines for review the submitting party accepts the reviewer’s decision on the merits of the respective samples. Once submitted, samples become the property of The Real Review.

The Real Review may require the submitter to supply up to 12 bottles of an award-winning wine for promotional purposes, including but not limited to masterclasses, trade events, consumer events and educational initiatives.

Delivery Method, Refunds and Returns

Corkscore Pty Ltd operates The Real Review and may provide subscription facilities. Subscriptions automatically renew unless the membership is cancelled before the end of the current period. Cost of the renewal will be the same as when the user signed up originally, or at new, adjusted pricing terms advised via email in advance of the renewal date. No payment information is stored on this site. We use Recurly.com to manage subscription and payment details. The Payment Gateway to process payments is provided by Paypal. Unless stated otherwise, the period for paid membership is 12 months. We do not offer full or partial refunds of membership fees for any reason. Membership commences with the payment of the membership fee and cannot be suspended for any reason until the last day of the membership period. Delivery of the membership is in digital form. Upon payment for the subscription, subscribers will define their own login name and password and receive an invoice with the amount paid. Unless stated otherwise, all prices are in Australian Dollars. Membership can be terminated by contacting us or clicking the “View your subscription and billing information” link in the emailed invoices.

Gift Cards

Gift cards expire 3 years after the date of issue.

Events

Ticket Holders

If ticket holders wish to cancel more than 7 days before the start of the event, the ticket price will be refunded. If ticket holders wish to cancel within 7 days before the start of the event because of change of mind, no refunds will be made.

In the event of an event being postponed, the organiser will notify registered attendees via email prior to the event date. In case of postponement ticket holders will be rebooked for the rescheduled event date or may alternatively request a credit voucher for future events. Refunds will be offered to those unable or unwilling to attend the future date.

In case of event cancellation by the organiser other than through force majeure, credit vouchers, rebooking for future events or refunds will be offered.

Please note booking fees and credit card surcharges are non-refundable and refunds will only be processed to the credit card or bank account of the individual, organisation or institution from which the payment was originally received.

Wineries participating in events

In case of postponement of events, wineries and their wines will be included in the event at the new date. Administration fees will not be refunded.

A 25% deposit at time of booking is generally required for administration fees relating to events if the event date is more than 60 days in the future. If wineries cancel their participation, any administration fees will not be refunded and any wines submitted will not be sent back to the winery. In case of event cancellation, wineries will be refunded administration fees and any submitted wines sent back to the winery.

Disclaimer

The Real Review is not responsible or liable in any way whatsoever for damages or losses resulting from (a) any User Content posted on The Real Review; or (b) the accuracy of any information (including ratings, prices and comments) published on The Real Review, whether posted by The Real Review or by any User or other third party. We do not review User Content posted on The Real Review, and The Real Review is not responsible, and disclaims all responsibility, for the posting of User Content which breaches the Use Restriction provisions of these Terms of Use.

Individual and Winery Plus memberships give access to certain third-party offers in The Real Advantage program. Third-party partners are solely responsible for the fulfilment and delivery of their offers. The Real Review is not responsible or liable in any way whatsoever for damages or losses resulting from use of any offers in The Real Advantage program. The Real Advantage offers expire on termination of the eligible memberships.

The Real Review provides its service on an “as is, where is” basis, and to the full extent permitted by law excludes all warranties and representations, express or implied (including without limitation warranties and representations as to merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose).

Top Wineries of New Zealand 2025 Prize Draw Terms & Conditions

Promoter

The Promoter of this competition is Corkscore Pty Ltd trading as The Real Review, located at Suite 55, 117 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale NSW 2100, Australia, with Co-promoter Osass Australia Pty Ltd trading as LeCavist, located at 18/30 Maddox street, Alexandria NSW 2015, Australia providing the wine cabinet prize.

Eligibility

Entry is open to residents of New Zealand who are aged 18 years or over. Employees or contractors of the Promoter and Co-promoter, associated persons, companies and agencies, and immediate family members are not eligible to enter.

How to Enter

Entry is with the purchase of a ticket to the dinner or tasting event hosted by the Top Wineries of New Zealand between 8th of April and 7th of June and answering a wine question which will be emailed to you after the event. Each ticket purchased counts as one entry. By purchasing a ticket the purchaser agrees to these terms and conditions.

Prize

One (1) LeCavist wine cabinet and 97 bottles of wine from the participating Top Wineries of New Zealand.
The total prize value is NZ$5,000.
The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
The prize will be delivered to a New Zealand address only.

Draw and Winner Notification

The winner will be selected by random draw conducted by the Promoter on Monday, 16 June 2025.
The winner will be contacted by email within five (5) working days of the draw.
If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within ten (10) working days, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw.

Announcement

The winner’s name will be published on The Real Review and LeCavist websites as well as their connected social media accounts on or after 16 June 2025.

General Conditions and Privacy

The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or submits an entry not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
If for any reason the prize becomes unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
The Promoter’s decision in all matters relating to this promotion is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Entrants’ contact information used for the ticket purchase will be collected and stored by the Promoter and Co-promoter of this Prize Draw and used for the purposes of contacting entrants about this competition and products promoted by this Prize Draw, administering this competition and contacting the winner.

All decisions made by the Promoter in relation to this promotion, including the determination of winners, are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Entrants acknowledge and agree that, to the extent permitted by law, they shall not challenge or dispute any such decisions and waive any right to seek judicial or other review of the outcome.

The total prize value is AUD $7,000.
The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
The prize will be delivered to an Australian address only.
